I started The Spinner Weaver after completing a Diploma in Fibre Arts at the NB College of Craft and Design.
Growing up on the St John River, I enjoyed trying new things and working with my hands - from using scraps of lumber to make boats to sewing doll clothes to baking.
My first foray into textiles was at camp at Kings Landing Historical Settlement and I just couldn’t get fibre out of my head.
After completing a Bachelor of Business Administration and working for a number of years in data analysis, I needed a change. In 2012, I decided to go back to school and I haven’t looked back since.
Weaving is a slow, meditative process and has really helped me to understand and focus on what is important to me.
